Cat’s Hill is a classic and the roads prove it. The pavement is the worst I have seen in any race ever. The road is pieced together by slabs of concrete with many uneven surfaces and gaps in between each slab. Everytime I went through the downhill section into the the final turn I lost momentum trying to power through because my tires were skipping around I needed to back off, maybe I should have just chose a better line? The hill is 23% but only 50-60 yards, be sure to shift early. The hill proved to be a great place to attack as people were dropping off every lap so it seemed. With 4 to go I was leading the pack and listened to Garry to drop back and conserve for the end. I stayed int he top 10 or so until the last lap going into the last turn I bounced around a little too much and the sprint to the S/F was short so I did not get to wind up all the way and placed 15th.
