it’s true… 2009 was the 6th time I’ve attended the UCI world masters track championships and this year was held in Sydney, Australia. My goal was to not only repeat my 2,000m pursuit win but to shoot for a World Record, which I am happy to report that I achieved. But, I tend to keep those things in perspective as we’re talking about 50-54 year olds that have access to a velodrome. Not everyone fits into that category but the record had been held by a great British cyclist (Ian Hallam) so there were a good number of congrats going around. I also won the scratch race and the points race. That makes 14 UCI world championships and 2010 will be in Portugal. That sounds like a nice place to “vacation”. Larry
