Childhood
Cindy rode single speed bikes for fun, then later joined the Mission San Jose bike club in 9th grade. Coincidentally on this ride, she met the president of Team Fremont- Garry Birch. Garry asked if she wanted to join Team Fremont, and sure enough she said yes!
Claim to Fame
Within her first year as a Category 4 rider, Cindy won the women’s age 15-16 Junior Points Series.
In her second year of racing, Cindy won the Snelling and Turlock road races in Category 4 as well, then upgraded to Category 3 after winning the Women’s Spring Point Series. In her first Category 3 criterium, she won 1st place in a close sprint. She also placed top 10 at the Criterium and Road Race Nationals.
