The ‘A’ group is invitation only. The ‘B’ group is for all other team members who can maintain a good tempo and guests. The ‘C’ Group is for development riders and those not ready for the ‘B’ group.

An exploration of little used roads coz they don’t go anywhere, except UP.

All race team members are requested to wear their team uniform.

Join in one the longest running riding traditions in the Bay area.

This ride can be MASSIVE, last years good weather brought out

Over 400 participants! Goes south from Danville to Dublin,

Camino Tassajara, Blackhawk and Danville

We head out over Palomares to Castro Valley, then climb Redwood and Pinehurst, Moraga, St. Mary’s, to Walnut Creek and then south to back to Fremont. The ‘C’ group route may be amended to be shorter.

We head out to the hills via Pleasanton, Vineyard and make a CCW loop of the lower Altamont hills via Cross road, Patterson Pass Road and Altamont Pass Roads

All Team members and guests are invited.

Depart Niles at 08:30. Start order of field will be set on the morning at the start line.

Race Team Ride #6 – Calaveras Road Time Trial RACE

The intention is for members to race and gage where their fitness is. Hopefully we can do at least two more TT tests before the racing season gets seriously under way.

Ride out thru Niles Canyon, make a warm up effort on the Poggio (Foothill Road bump at Sunol, cross over to Sunol Pleasanton road at the footbridge and head back to the start, warmed up and ready to race.

You can ride your regular road bike or TT bike.

This is the first ride where we are splitting the Race Team rides in to groups.

The ‘A’ group is invitation only. The ‘B’ group is for all other team members who can maintain a good tempo and guests. The ‘C’ Group is for development riders and those not ready for the ‘B’ group.

We will ride out thru Niles Canyon to Pleasanton. From the top of the hill above Del Valle, there are options to turn around there or descend to the lake for extra mileage and vertical feet.

Since April we have been getting out on the roads on the first Thursday of the month. We’ll do so again this week.
6:15pm sign-in and socialize
6:30pm (sharp) departure
- lights mandatory
- split into two groups (hard and easy – all riders will wait for others in group)
- Cherry/ Boyce/ Cushing Parkway south
- right on Fremont
- right on Landing
- one off-road loop http://app.strava.com/segments/676466 – if dry and ridable
- if muddy then we will stay in the Gateway Industrial Park
- depending on timing we will either head back or do a team exericse to the south before heading back

socialize and sign-in prior to 6:15pm
six laps winter warm-up (6 laps together, one lap ballistic)
two techinque sprints (small ring, head up, in the drops, concentrate on starting in a straight line (core!))
fifteen laps scratch race- “ride away if you can” – BUT, know that riders may be on your wheel!
- this drill may drop riders, so either find a draft, do your own thing, or wait for riders to take a lap on you then jumnp on
2 lap “threaded paceline” – slow speed
same scratch race until 7:50pm
cool down & outta there!
