2010 Team Target Events
Nov 27, 2009 Team
Hi folks
Team Target events (TTE’s) for 2010 were identified by the team board last month, based upon the calendar we had at that time.
What are TTE’s?
TTE’s are race days that have been identified as events where the board wants to provide logistical and financial support for our athletes.
The logistical portion will primarily be the establishment of a team HQ for the day, by installing some 10×10 tents and chairs and a sheltered space where you can warm up on your trainer. We will also provide refreshments (water / soda/ adult refreshments (beer) and some snacks. The appointed team manager for the day will also attempt to assist athletes in other ways, such as collecting numbers, number pinning, ensuring the athletes do not line up without all the items they need to be as successful as possible. The team is also in the process of acquiring Team Wheels (Shimano 9 and 10 speed, Campy 9/10/11 speed and SRAM).
The financial portion of the support is hopefully the reimbursement of race entries, either in entirety or in part. This may also extend to hotel and travel reimbursement. The extent of this financial aid will depend entirely upon the team acquiring funds through promoting successful races and sponsorship cash installments.
What events have been chosen?
The board has decided to choose only events between March and September, and only one event per month.
The list is
March : March 28th, Gilroy Crit (was planned to be the Menlo Park GP, but this event is not on the 2010 listing so far)
April: April 24th, Wente RR, Livermore
May: May 31st, Memorial Day Crit
June: June 27th, Benicia TT
July: July 18th, Albany Crit
August: August 21st, San Ardo RR
September: Monday September 6th – Giro di San Francisco Criterium
Of course, these events are all dependent upon them being promoted. If any event is canceled or postponed, the board will substitute with another event.
